Q. How do I access or download an e-book from Ebook Central?

Ebook Central offers several ways to view content. You can:

• read the e-book online;
• download a single chapter as PDF files;
• checkout/borrow and download the entire e-book for a 21-day period. 

Borrowing and Downloading an E-Book

To borrow an e-book from Ebook Central, complete the following steps:

1. Locate an e-book in Ebook Central.
2. Click the "Download Book" button located underneath the book cover image.
3. Either--
   1. Create an account with Ebook Central (if you don't have one already); OR
   2. Log in to your Ebook Central account (if you already created one).
4. Indicate whether you are using a personal or public computer (Note: you will only want to borrow and download the ebook if you are using your own, personal computer.)
5. Click either--
   1. "Get Adobe Digital Editions" button (if you do not have Abode Digital Editions installed) and install the software; OR
   2. "I Have Adobe Digital Editions" button (if you already installed the software).
6. Select your Loan Length from the drop-down menu and click the "Download" button.
7. A .acsm file will be saved to your computer.
8. Open that file with Adobe Digital Editions; your ebook will now download to your computer and be accessible via Adobe Digital Editions.

Once your loan period has expired, the ebook will not be accessible from your computer until you have re-borrowed the item again.
